Audience Research

To further aid in the development of my magazine I did a short survey to see what my target audience is thinking and would like to see. The results were very illuminating, I learned a lot and they even made me reconsider some parts of my magazine. The second question was "Which masthead is the most appealing", the winner, Moody Mag was my favorite option so I'm glad it won. If I don't get the perfect lighting in my final magazine photos I could this task to edit colors within the photos. The last task was adding text, in the lower right-hand corner I added my name with the horizontal text tool and was able to edit the details using the fx at the bottom of the layer panel. This task will help me create the masthead on my cover and other titles throughout the magazine. All in all, these tasks will, once again, help my final magazine look and feel more profes...

Magazine Cover Mockup (drawing)

Image
Mock-up 1  Mock- up 2     To reiterate, the genre of my magazine is pop culture/lifestyle, I chose this genre because it is the most interesting and it can be taken down many paths since the genre is quite broad. My target audience is black women of all sexualities ranging from ages 16-23. In my magazine, I will discuss the lives of black women in America in a way that is fun and light-hearted but will also bring light to the many issues they may face. I will also include advice, the latest trends, and black celebrity news within the pages. I want my magazine to feel like a conversation between a group of friends, it will be relatable and fun.
