Contents page Analysis

Image
Contents Pages   Content Page 1 The style of the contents page is the same as Tiger Beat's cover pages, very busy with a lot of text and pictures. On this contents page, the masthead is very small in comparison to the title and the dateline, which takes up the entire top of the page. Oddly enough the content sections, bold and purple, are very basic with there only being three of them. To have a distinction in the content the titles are larger and in orange or purple. There are many images of celebrities and other inanimate objects that relate to the content of the magazine, but credit is not given on this page. Two of the images match the main images on the cover page. All the images and text in the content section have page numbers on them.  believe there is so much content jam-packed on their content pages because they are trying to appeal to younger audiences that have shorter attention spans. Content page 2 Teen Vogue's content pages are unique in that they don't c...

Cover Analysis

Cover Pages Cover 1 This magazine's genre is teenage pop culture, it is on the less classy side as you can see by the barcode on the front right corner and the content in the cover lines. Its target audience is preteen to teenage girls of all races, the colors, pink, yellow, and purple, and the composition of the magazine indicate this strongly. Other factors that contribute to its theme are the celebrities put on the cover, for the time(November 2004) these were the most popular people among the youth, and the flash under the main cover lines is also one. Tiger Beat is unique in that many of its covers do not have just one main cover line and image but multiple, this could be a strategy to stand out amongst other magazines and grab/keep th...

Pop Culture Genre

My genre  My genre is Pop Culture, I choose this genre because the market for it is large as well as a personal interest in this topic. Celebrity news and drama will always sell and my future career path(musician) could mean that I am in one of these types of magazines. The magazine would be catered to females and feminine presenting individuals of all races from the ages of 16-22. This would entertain them, while also being a lesson in what not to do in life.

Out of this media studies course, I plan to gain some skills in the digital creating and photography world since all three of my possible career choices, music, science, and education, all involve some sort of media and creation. I'm also excited to c...
